Handling Removal Orders

The Buildings Department may issue removal orders requiring owners to remove unauthorised building works (UBW) or rectify contraventions of regulations within a specified time. The orders may also be registered against the relevant property titles in the Land Registry.

If the removal of UBW is a designated minor works item, owners may appoint a Prescribed Building Professional and/or a Prescribed Registered Contractor to carry out the minor works in accordance with the simplified requirement under the“Minor Works Control System”.

  • Located on-grade or on a slab, not more than 2 storeys, 5m<Height ≤10m﹐ Span ≤ 6m

  • Unauthorised floor slab

  • Hung underneath the soffit of a balcony or canopy

  • Located on-grade or on a slab, single storey, height ≤ 5m ﹐Span ≤ 6m

  • Located on-grade or on a slab, single storey, height ≤ 2.5m ﹐Span ≤ 4.5m

Members of the public may view the approved plans and records of the completed minor works and order copies of such plans and records via the BRAVO System.
