Comic Drawing Competition

The 25th Anniversary of the Buildings Department - “Building Safety on Board” Board Game Design Competition

The Comic Drawing Competitions organised by the Buildings Department (BD) have been well-received in the past 5 years. Next year marks the 25th anniversary of the Buildings Department. In this connection, BD is organising a board game design competition named “Building Safety on Board”. Participants may enter the competition in the following categories:

Parent-child: to draw on the game board provided (kindergarten students and their parents)

Primary School: to draw on the game board provided or design his/her own game board (P.1 to P.6 students)

Secondary School: to design a board game together with the chesses (S.1 to S.6 students)

There will be a number of awards for each category. To encourage students to incorporate the STEM elements in their designs, there will be a STEM Award for primary & secondary schools. For details, please stay tuned to the BD website.

Deadline of the competition is now extended to 30 September 2017

‘Home Safe Home˙Home Sweet Home’ Comic Drawing Competition

Students and parents are invited to enter the fifth Comic Drawing Competition organised by the Buildings Department to promote building safety. This year’s competition, themed ‘Home Safe Home˙Home Sweet Home’, is divided into four categories: Upper Primary School (P.4 to P.6 students), Junior Secondary School(F.1 to F.3 students), Senior Secondary School (F.4 to F.6 students) and the newly added Parent-child (Kindergarten to P.3 students and parents). Entries should focus on one of the following: four main 'Building Safety' concepts (Structural Safety, Fire Safety, Environmental Hygiene and Public Safety), Mandatory Building Inspection Scheme (MBIS) or Mandatory Window Inspection Scheme (MWIS). Awards for each category include Champion, 1st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up, Most Popular Award (Online voting), 10 Merit Awards, Most Supportive School Award, Outstanding Participating School Award, as well as the newly added award - MBIS/MWIS Thematic Awards. Winning entries of the Champions will have the opportunity to be made into animation short films. Application forms can be downloaded here. Join now!
